This year, Airbus is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the A320, the aircraft that established the European aircraft manufacturer as a major player on the global market.
The A320 family now makes up the entire Air France medium-haul fleet, with 119 aircraft, including the A318, A319, A320 and A321.
It was in 1988 that Air France, the A320’s launch airline, received its first aircraft, the F-GFKA, called "Ville de Paris" which it operated on the Paris-Dusseldorf-Berlin route.
To celebrate its arrival, the Airbus A320 made a special 30-minute flight on departure from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, including flying along the Champs Elysees at 500 m altitude with Jacques Chirac, then Prime Minister, on board.
